In Loving Memory
Gail Malone
Where do you start when you’re not only talking about your mom, but also your best friend? It seems impossible to put into words, but I’m going to try....
For starters she was the most selfless person I ever met in my entire life and probably ever will meet. She always put others ahead of herself and never looked for anything in return.
In addition to being unbelievably selfless, I think we would all agree that my mom was full of life, with an amazing sense of humor. She was always the life of the party and the first one on the dance floor (even with her knees in the condition they were in)…but most importantly she was always there to support, give great advice and help in a way that was unmatchable.
She was a sincere woman who genuinely cared about everyone she encountered. After seeing the hundreds of people that have been here within the past two days, I think it’s fair to say…she touched a lot of lives and was loved by many.
After meeting some of my moms’ coworkers and friends, I came to realize that my mom was beyond proud of her family. I just hope she realized the pat on the back she and my dad deserved for raising three children they can be so proud of. Eddie, Brian and I would agree that she was the best mother a person can ask for. Her love for us always shined through, everyday of her life here with us.
In addition to being an unbelievable mother, she was a loyal and loving partner to my dad for 44 years. My mom may have passed but I know the love they shared will never die.
In the last weeks of my mom here with us, she was still so concerned about how everyone else was doing and I made a promise to her that I will always try to stay strong and take care of my dad in her absence, with pleasure. I think my dad would agree that without each other at this horrible time of our lives, I don’t know where we would be or how we would get through this.
Now, getting to Gailey’s pride and joy…her grandchildren. Anyone that’s ever spoke to her for two minutes knows that she has three amazing granddaughters…Amanda, Kayla and Cassidy. It really is impossible to put into words the amazing love she felt for them. She just couldn’t get enough of them and how wonderful, smart and perfect they are.
The only regret I will ever have was not giving her another grandchild so I want to thank my brothers, Debbie and Rosa for making her a proud grandmother.
I’ve mentioned a few hats my mom wore, but I’m sure everybody here, a sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, aunt, godchild, niece, cousin or friend would agree she was an awesome and amazing woman and loving her was easy.
Over the past month, we’ve had hundreds of people asking if there is anything they can do…well there is....I beg you to please always remember my mom and always keep her memory alive.
I love you Mom!!!
